In 2011 Sarah saw a gap for women in business in her local area. Searching herself at the time for networking events, she continually ran into brick walls. Geelong being the nearest regional city, Sarah discovered that many business owners on the Bellarine were wanting to network with other local likeminded women.

Sarah decided to run a women in business night to see what would happen. Over 50 local businesswomen came to the event and wanted for more. Clearly there was a demand for this these events on the Bellarine.

Monthly evening events kickstarted Bellarine Business Women. This quickly grew in numbers and so did a demand for business support and knowledge. Over the years Sarah added the Business Circle to the membership program. This was designed for women wanting to grow their business, learn new tools and have the support of someone to bounce ideas off and to be challenged.

In its years of operation Sarah has hosted over 50 networking events, including guest speakers, business lunches, social events, workshops and straight networking evenings.

“Bellarine Business Women has been the most amazing initiative to hit this region. I have been astounded by the talent that exists and how many entrepreneurial women there are. I have met some great contacts for my business, attended various development sessions offered to members and have already been inundated with new clients from the network. A must for women in business!” Helen Butteriss, Principal Crowe Horwath Ocean Grove.
